The foosball effect
Wednesday, November 4th, 2009Today we worked with prototypes, and we wanted to develop the idea that we presented last week. We sat down in the scrollbar and tried to come up with something great, but our brains seemed to be pretty empty. To get some help we asked Anni to come and talk to us, and she suggested that we took a break and moved around for a while to clear our heads. So we decided to play a game of foosball, which turned out to be quite a success. When we got back to our sketches at the table, we were all full of energy and ideas.
To try something different we decided to take away the car from our sketch and ask ourselves the question: What would happen if Jørgen only had the bus to bring him to the opera house?
This would change the situation a lot. Jørgen told us at some point, that he doesn’t use public transportation as he finds it uncomfortable and complicated. We came up with a device that will help him take the bus and train without getting lost or being stressed. The assignment was to create a prototype, so we got some materials from the design lab to demonstrate the size and look of our product. I’m now working on a short Flash-movie, that will show how it all works, and we will present the idea next week.
Sketching

Personas
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009Today we learned about personas and worked in the design lab.
Lene Nielsen was there to tell us about all the work she has done with personas in different companies, and after her lecture it was our turn to make up stories about people from our target group.
Chindogu
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009Chindogu is about inventing stuff that can’t really be used for anything even though it has an actual purpose. Today we have made our own examples of Chindogus in the Design Lab.
We started off by brain storming for a couple of hours about problems in our everday life. Problems such as rainy weather, angry bus drivers, and pizza crust came to our minds, but we ended up working with a problem that almost everyone can relate to: Morning hair. We have all tried getting out of bed in the morning, looking in the mirror, and then realizing something looks very wrong – and not even the hair brush can save you.

Sunday, September 13th, 2009Here are a couple of pictures from one of our first times working in the Design Lab. We worked with motion and built a model to demonstrate our ideas and concept.
